As one of the few remaining ‘old gods’, Lady Amalthea, as she’s often called, touches everything she encounters with grace.
Up until ‘recently’, she resided exclusively in the Pokemon World – only returning to the Primary World out of curiosity. As it would seem, a certain Yveltal emissary was causing out of control chaos… but Amalthea decided it wasn’t her problem.
Though with a lot of convincing, Amalthea agreed to stage a fake coup to overthrow Yveltal as Kalos’s king, as said king was getting bored.
The sequence of events that followed cemented Amalthea’s place in history as a revolutionary and savior – before she disappeared into the forest.
She decided to stay in the world with humans, as she grew fond of their culture. She now lives a low-key life deep in the forest with two other once-human immortals.
Appearance
Amalthea is 6’01”, with a thin build. She has long black hair decorated by many flowers, and pale blue eyes.
Her choice of clothing can be considered a bit dated, as she hasn’t really changed her fashion choice for centuries. She always likes to carry various bottles with her and is often seen with a book.
Amalthea was designed by Swissy
Personality
She tends to keep to herself, only interfering if she deems truly necessary – or if pestered enough. That isn’t to say she’s distant, though – Amalthea is renowned for her kindness and humbleness.
If you manage to find her and bring her a problem to solve, she’ll whole-heartedly try and help.
She has a high tolerance for mischief, and holds the idea that all people and pokemon hold value of some kind.
Story
I’ll get to it… eventually.
Skills
Emissary of Xerneas:
- Creation of the life spirit:
- While Yveltal can only manipulate the life spirit, Xerneas is capable of creating life from nothing. This applies to humans, plants, and pokemon – she is capable of reviving the recently deceased, as well as creating true immortals; though she’s never done so after witnessing the trauma immortality can cause.
- She cannot use this power without limits – creating life drains her own life spirit, and if she uses too much, must go into dormancy to recharge.

- Healing:
- Xerneas has healing abilities beyond that of any other human or pokemon. She can instantly cure terminal diseases or grievous wounds.
- Conditional immortality:
- Legends stop aging physically at age 21, after that, they do not age and as such, cannot die from old age, though they can be killed through other means.
Leadership:
- She doesn’t particularly want to admit so, but Amalthea is a strong leader. She led an entire revolution, after all. Her kindness and empathy shines through as a leader, putting her comrades above all else.
Traditional medicine:
- Amalthea’s hobby of choice when not doing emissary duties. She’ll forage for herbs in the deep woods in which she lives, creating herbal remedies for trivial issues.
- Most commonly she creates pain relief medicine for AZ’s chronic joint pain, but is sometimes approached by outsiders for medicine.
Relationships
AZ – Non-romantic partner
AZ and Amalthea have lived together for so long that they both can’t seem to remember how many years it’s been. Amalthea feels a great deal of empathy for AZ, and chooses to keep him company through his curse of immortality.
Aurelien – Legendary counterpart
Despite being opposing powers, Aurelien and Amalthea get along very well. If it weren’t for their own individual busy agendas, they’d hang out more. Aurelien is very good at convincing Amalthea to do ‘stupid’ things.
Wisteria – Living with
Like AZ, Amalthea is very empathetic towards the despair of Wisteria’s situation, and invited her to find a home with AZ and herself with open arms.
Tiphanie – Legendary lead
Amalthea is aware of how young Tiphanie is, and because of this, offers her all the protective power she has so Tiphanie can grow up into a powerful commanding legend she can be proud of.
Souadou – Legendary apprentice
Like Tiphanie, Amalthea wishes to see Souadou grow more and live a fulfilling life. She doesn’t mind that Souadou acts a bit flustered and informal around her – she thinks it’s nice to be seen as a motherly figure by someone.
Trivia
- She’s equally comfortable in human form as she is in pokemon form. She’ll sometimes rest in the forest in pokemon form and let bird pokemon rest on her antlers.
- Despite being considered an old god, she’s not very familiar with Emmy.
- Some nearby village elders who have seen AZ and Amalthea refer to them as ‘the lord and lady of the forest’.
- Amalthea has only been in the city once in the past 50 years – she was invited by Aurelien, and afterwards vowed to avoid the city proactively.
