August was an everyday park ranger, watching over and and educating people about the protected national park around Mt. Chimney. But as luck would have it, their connection to the volcano was about to get a whole lot closer.
After reports came in from hikers about strange sounds and a bright light, August went to investigate – only to be zapped by Arceus, giving them the power of Groudon.
August was the first of the ‘new emissaries’, and was a bit more than confused.
Thankfully, with the help of a reserved young girl and reclusive sea witch, August was able to understand what happened a bit more – which begged the question… were there others like her?
It would appear August was correct, because even in her park, another new emissary was causing trouble out of confusion.
So, August figured that everyone could use some help – and though she wasn’t the most skilled with her new powers herself, working together with Sapphire could be the key to helping the newer gods flourish.
And with summer approaching, what better time than for a summer camp?
Appearance
August is 6’01”, with a stocky, muscular build. She has short, curly red hair, orange eyes, and light scarring on her face from scuffles with wild pokemon.
While she’s very comfortable in her ranger uniform, she’ll switch out her coat when off-duty to avoid confusion.
August was designed by Swissy
Personality
August is like a bit like a supportive big sibling, a bit like a teacher. She has a passion for helping others learn and grow, and has quite a high tolerance for fooling around before firmly putting her foot down.
While she is very social on the job, she prefers to keep her personal life quieter. Still, she treats people with an air of respect and kindness, at least until they prove they don’t deserve it.
Story
I’ll get to it… eventually.
Skills

- Creation and manipulation of landmass:
- Groudon is capable of creating and expanding landmass from thin air, as otherwise manipulating it.
- Manipulation of drought:
- Groudon has the power to start major droughts, but also to prevent or stop existing ones.
- Enhanced heat resistance
- Conditional immortality:
- Legends stop aging physically at age 21, after that, they do not age and as such, cannot die from old age, though they can be killed through other means.
Field work:
- Since it’s August’s job to make sure everything is in good order around Mt. Chimney national park, it’s a given she’s effective at field work and studies. She can easily identify native plants, as well as pokemon based on signs left behind.
- Despite this, she’s still learning the ins and outs of geology.
Conflict resolution:
- August has always been good at helping two parties reach an agreement, this was amplified after she became a park ranger. When your job entails stopping people who cause harm to the environment intentionally or not, being able to de-escalate is a must.
- More often than not, it’s drunk litterers – August has become very good at reasoning with various types of drunks.
Relationships
Marie – Sister figure
Though it was probably unintentional at first, August sees Marie a bit like a little sister. Since Marie helped her out so much with her legendary powers, August felt it was only natural to return the favor in the form of serving as a figure to look up to.
Sapphire – Mentor
Though Kyogre and Groudon and known for their quarrels, August and Sapphire get along very well – despite the dialect barrier being difficult at times. Sapphire feels like someone that after so long, August can look up to.
Viv – Local troublemaker
Viv is a bit… difficult. But August feels that she knows why, and is determined to help Viv out – if for the very least reason being so she doesn’t mess up the park’s ecosystem by accident.
Felicity – Potential love interest
August was made aware that it was due to Felicity’s help that Marie and Sapphire were able to find her, and requested an introduction. They get along well, and will sometimes hang out when their busy schedules allow for it. Felicity has expressed interest in brining her ‘little brother’ to the legendary summer camp.
Trivia
- With Sapphire’s help, August is studying the Draconid language.
- She enjoys visiting the coast to see Marie and Sapphire, and is particularly fond of seaside ice cream shops.
- August and Viv both live in Lavaridge – due to the nature of it being a smaller town, they’ve bumped into each other casually; in which case they both pretend they didn’t see each other.
- August is completely astonished by the underground of Meteor Falls, and wishes to study it more – if only she had the free time.
