Ramiel

“I think you’re forgetting exactly who Ramiel’s mother is, Mari. Don’t be a dick.”

–Hazel, The sea where one’s home planet reflects

Ramiel is a name forgotten to time, and a being that rests in the stories and rumors spread around… but are they truly somethnig more?

Ramiel is the child of Skymother and Arceus, and they wanted nothing more than to be noticed and given responsibility by the latter. But when Arceus ignored them time and time again, Ramiel became angry and began an age of destruction in Ultra Space to try and get their attention. Nothing was left un-razed, and Ultra Space was threatened with total annihilation. As a last-ditch effort, Skymother used all her power to seal Ramiel for an eternity.

Filled with both regret over Skymother’s death and anger that Arceus didn’t care, they considered Megalo Tower to be their purgatory and prison.
When a group of hobbyist scientists accidentally freed them and let them into the outside world, Ramiel’s rampage resumed and their power exponentially increased – requiring a coalition of legends; and eventually, two grand gods to defeat.

Afterwards, though, Ramiel seemed… different. Having gotten what they wanted, the fog of their blinding rage cleared, and left them with a new outlook in a new world.

With some odd new friends, what awaits the fell god’s future?

Appearance

Ramiel is 7’0″, though they frequently slouch. Their most notable features are their prism claw and wings, which are the burnt-out remains of their previous light-filled counterparts. They also have a triangular prism embedded in their chest, which acts as their ‘heart’.
They have long black hair, with bits of light resembling a night sky in the lower half.

They have a variety of outfits, though most are very old and worn.

Personality

Pre-postgame, Ramiel was generally cold and unforgiving. They saw no moral problem in using absolute brute force to get what they wanted, and only cared about the consequences of their actions if it directly harmed themself.

They were driven by a desire for revenge and spite, and wanted nothing more than to make Arceus pay for ‘abandoning them and Ultra Space’. They had a ‘shoot and don’t ask questions’ attitude.

However, after the ‘final battle’, Ramiel agreed to start therapy at Skymothers’s request, and it’s been going very well. They’ve gotten their anger under control for the most part – though now, their major struggle appears to be awkwardness around other people. They tend to be a bit too sarcastic and self-deprecating for their own good, and lack self confidence.

Story

I’ll get to it… eventually.

Skills

Emissary of Necrozma:

  • -blasts you with forearm laser-
  • True immortality?:
    • Ramiel’s mortal status is unknown, but considering they haven’t aged for longer than time can count, it’s safe to say that they’re some form of immortal. It’s unknown if they can be killed in combat or otherwise.

Relationships

Skymother – Mother

Ramiel is grateful for how much Skymom cared for and loved them, and almost constantly feels guilty for being the cause of her supernova. Even after Skymom’s return, Ramiel feels pained when she’s kind to them, as though they don’t ‘deserve it’ for all they’ve done.

Arceus – Parent

Ramiel still feels immense distaste for Arceus, but they’re at least on ‘I don’t want to kill them’ terms now. Even after immense explanation and apology, Ramiel doesn’t believe it’s in their soul to ever forgive Arceus – though Ramiel respects that Arceus acknowledges this and respects their boundaries.

Lillie – Therapist

Lillie is Ramiel’s therapist, and while Ramiel doesn’t know much about her background, they find her to be kind, patient, and understanding. They’re also quite thankful that Lillie took such good care of Nebby, partially allowing for Skymom’s return.

Mariska – Close friend

Ramiel finds Mariska… odd. They don’t quite understand why she seems so keen on fighting, and how she doesn’t seem to tire herself out at all. Still, Ramiel considers her to be a good friend, and is grateful of her ‘coaching’ about things Ramiel isn’t so confident in about themselves.

Hazel – Complicated

Ramiel has lots of conflicting feelings about Hazel, but above all, they worry about her. They recognize that Hazel was in a very similar situation to what Ramiel themselves was in previously, and though Hazel doesn’t seem willing, Ramiel wishes they could be friends again.

Arael – Daughter

Arael means everything to Ramiel. They never anticipated having a child of their own, but Ramiel has vowed to do absolutely everything they can to ensure Arael’s safety – even if that means being a bit overprotective.

Trivia

  • They’re a fan of grunge music.
  • They have limited access to the ultranet, and mostly use it for petsites. While they were sealed, they were restricted from sending messages to anyone – but now, they have a few petsite friends.
  • Their claw isn’t actually very heavy, just clunky to move around sometimes.
  • Through the ultranet, Ramiel knows of the cult that worships a version of them twisted by time. While their anger might be under control now, these people still greatly upset Ramiel.
  • They used to play cutesey video games with Nebby when they were around. Since Skymom’s return, Ramiel will sometimes play those same games with her.
