While she may be the heiress to both the esteemed Stone family and the title of lorekeeper, Ruby is a girl who tends to keep to herself in the pursuit of knowledge – wishing to unravel the connections between regions, her people, and the past.
Born to Steven and Wallace under a surrogate, Ruby was always a quiet child – afraid of other people and conflict, and always clinging to her partner pokemon Bibi. Her attitude led to her being fairly sheltered, and she didn’t have any real friends her age for a long time.
In an attempt to help their daughter grow, Ruby’s parents sent her to the famous Naranja Academy overseas. While it was difficult for her to fit in at first, an equally strange and sheltered classmate quickly became friends with her, and the two became partners with an unbreakable bond on the academy’s ‘treasure hunt’.
Now, after becoming one of Paldea’s youngest recorded champions, Ruby lives with a changed demeanor after her adventure. With a newfound confidence, she’s working to put together the pieces left behind by those before her.
As long as she has her friends, the mysteries of the unknown are no more than a simple hurdle to be jumped.
Appearance
Ruby is 5’0″, with a thin build. She has light silver hair tied into buns or ponytails, and red eyes. She always tends to have a wide-eyed expression.
She tends to dress in a more formal-casual style, and refuses to wear the academy uniform.

Personality
Prior to her adventures in Paldea, Ruby was shy and nervous to a degree where she'd hide behind her family at the sight of strangers, and cry at any minor infraction. She much preferred to learn about the world from the comfort of what she knew, without having to go out and actually experience new things.
However, Ruby's adventure and relationship with Spinch and her other friends has allowed to her come out of her shell almost completely. While her tone is still generally quiet, she's notably much more confident.
She can sometimes be a tad rude or snarky, something that is more often than not intentional. Still, Ruby is kind to others unless she finds a reason not to be.

Fate of 3,000 years:
- Due to her maternal lineage, Ruby possesses an odd 'power' from her connection to multiple legends.
- She will occasionally fall into a semi-lucid, dreamlike state while awake, in which she's capable of witnessing the past. She cannot control when this happens, but it tends to only occur when in a location of importance.
Pokemon battling:
- It should come as no surprise that the daughter of two former champions and a gym leader is a very skilled pokemon trainer. Though she tends to be vague about the true extent of her power, if something is to be decided through battle, it's almost certain Ruby will get her way.
- Ruby technically only has a pokemon team of 5 - however, Spinch frequently lends her their power to the point where most assume Spinch is part of the team.
Relationships
Spinch - Best friend
Spinch is Ruby's best friend, and first real friend in general. The two's opposing energies play off each other well, and Ruby finds Spinch to be a more than reliable adventuring partner. She would and has gone to the ends of the earth for Spinch.
Steven - Father
While Ruby is not particularly interested in her father's past as one of Hoenn's champions, she admires and cares for him a great deal. One of her favorite ways to pass time was to sit in when Steven went to examine and process his stone collection, contently making conversation and asking all sorts of questions.
Wallace - Father
Ruby finds a lot of comfort in Wallace, and generally goes to him first when upset. Despite her intense anxiety as a child, she'd often tag along to Sootopolis so she could look at certain books - because with Wallace, she felt safe to do so.
Zinnia - 'Aunt'
Ruby's 'aunt', though Zinnia was around just as often as her fathers while growing up. Though Ruby admires her a lot, she also feels as though Zinnia is somewhat mysterious and not letting her in on things.
Ruby was unaware of her genetic relationship to Zinnia until the possibility was brought up by Raifort.
Aster - Aunt
Ruby's other aunt, who she admittedly knows much less about simply due to the fact that she sees Aster much less often. Still, Aster is a warm and kind figure to Ruby. Ruby is unaware of Aster's role as an emissary.
Charlie - Babysitter
Charlie was Ruby's babysitter growing up, and much of her initial knowledge of how pokemon battling and the League comes from them infodumping as a 'bedtime story'. Charlie was intended to accompany Ruby in Paldea, however they quickly became tied up in their own affairs - though they'd lend a helping hand here and there, still.
Nemona - Friend
Though Ruby was originally off-put by Nemona's overly-forwards attitude, the two were eventually able to match wavelengths and become good friends. Nemona is a bit like a big sister figure to Ruby, constantly encouraging her to do her best and checking in to make sure she's alright.
Raifort - Favorite teacher
Raifort is Ruby's history teacher, and Ruby is the star of her class. Ruby often comes for extracurricular lessons on material not elaborated on enough in the curriculum, and remains engaged even when this devolves into Raifort's theories about the divines. Raifort treats Ruby with an upmost importance due to being familiar with Orchid's published work.
Trivia
- Ruby's partner pokemon, Bibi, never latched onto a flower and instead formed that bond with Ruby. Because of this, Bibi does not have the expected flower crest of a florges, and she almost never leaves Ruby's side.
- Ruby is only bare-minimum tech-savvy; however, after the Scarlet Incident, Ruby has made an effort to learn how to disable the AI assistants on her phone and computer.
- She tends to try and convince others to battle her over things, knowing she will probably win and get what she wants.
- She shares a dorm room with Spinch, though she was originally in a dorm by herself. She requested to share a room with them after the they became friends.
- Bibi is related to Renee's florges.
