When a mysterious fire burned through Ecruteak city, the lives of many were lost, including three in particular. Those chosen 3 were revived with Ho-Oh’s divine grace, and being one of the 3, Sen has devoted her life to protecting the people and pokemon of Johto.
Though, with Raikou running away and Suicune turning on and killing Ho-Oh, Sen remains the only member of the trio who’s devoted to upholding Ho-Oh’s wishes.
Now that the war has passed, Sen spends most of her days protecting Johto’s natural environment along with Megumi – awaiting the time when she will able to protect Ho-Oh’s newest emissary.
Appearance
Sen’s main form is that of Entei – she very rarely appears in human form, and usually does so only to humor Megumi.
Her human form stands at 6’0″ (182cm), with a muscular build. She has messy dark brown hair and pale red eyes.
She usually wears dark red haori over a short black and white robe. She’s always seen with a red lily crest in her hair and with two dark grey metal wristbands.
Personality
Sen takes her job incredibly seriously, which extends to her general attitude. She’s dutiful and dedicated, and will stop at nothing to ensure the safety of humans, pokemon, and nature.
Though she might be serious, she’s in no means harsh. While her form as Entei might be intimidating, Sen is actually very empathetic and cares deeply for other’s feelings. Her infinite knowledge allows her to connect more deeply with other’s feelings and understand them better.
Story
This section is old and outdated. It currently only goes up to the in-universe year of 2027 and is due for an update!
Beginnings
Before there was Sen, there was… someone. Or, something. Sen can’t quite remember what she was before she died. She can only remember being trapped in a room with two others like her, before… everything came to her at once.
The history of the region, the people, of… everything. The functions of the world itself became clear to her. Then, everything came back into focus, and Sen found herself at the foot of the now burnt tower she must’ve been in. And with her, was Ho-Oh.
It would seem as though the two others were still with her, but they looked… odd. And as Sen would notice, she looked odd herself – like a creature that had never been seen before. The yellow creature to her right was out cold, while the lavender creature to her left was cowering, in a trance. Sen turned around, and saw the magnificence of Ho-Oh behind her. Impulsively, she bowed, before Ho-Oh’s claws lifted her chin up. In her newfound infinite knowledge, she knew;
I have to protect Ho-Oh.
And it would seem her protection would be needed as soon as possible.
The defectors
Sen would nod towards Ho-Oh in understanding, and would watch her awaken the trembling lavender creature. But as she did, the creature snarled and lunged at Ho-Oh – an attack that Sen would quickly jump in front of. This was enough to scare off the lavender-colored creature, who scampered into the nearby woods without a word.
Ho-Oh was shocked, but she would turn her attention to the yellow creature. Using her paw, Sen assisted in shaking them awake, and they seemed shocked and afraid. As a crowd of humans was slowly growing around the three, Ho-Oh motioned for the two to follow her to Bell Tower.
There, Ho-Oh would bestow the two of them names – the yellow one’s name was Raikou, while Sen’s name was Entei. The lavender one who fled into the woods was Suicune, and Ho-Oh felt worried for her. Still, Ho-Oh gave a proper explanation of her purpose for reviving the three. The region was at war – Raikou and Sen knew that. But the humans and pokemon of Johto were struggling, and so, Ho-Oh revived three beings to protect them.
Sen understood her duty, and though she had no memory of her past life, she knew that she now had a new purpose. Raikou, on the other hand, was overwhelmed and terrified. They asked if they had to – and while Ho-Oh seemed disappointed, she told Raikou that there was a place far away, where they could simply exist as they pleased. Raikou agreed to be taken there, and in a flash of light, the two of them vanished – before Ho-Oh soon returned.
So now it was just Sen and Ho-Oh.
Ho-oh’s death
Ho-Oh seemed saddened that two of her creations rejected their duty, but Sen was quick to comfort her. Ho-Oh smiled, and thanked her for staying.
In the days following, Ho-Oh’s demeanor would become grim. She told Sen that she felt a grim, evil presence in Ecruteak. It wasn’t just the violence between Kantonian soldiers and the resistance, no… it was something far more sinister. While Sen did her best to aid the townspeople, it was difficult due to the chaos the city had devolved into. Ho-Oh had enough, and told Sen she was going to investigate – and that if anything happened to her, Sen was to seek out the monk in Ilex Forest for help.
So, Sen let Ho-Oh leave – which would be the last time Sen would ever see her.
Sen, among many others, witnessed the grand battle in the sky between two bird gods, before Ho-Oh plummeted to the ground. Then, there was silence – before a gut-wrenching divine cry could be heard. In that moment, Sen knew – Ho-Oh wouldn’t be coming back.
Megumi
Sen was devastated – she had failed the one task she had. Though she was bogged down by grief, she didn’t want it to be an excuse to quit her duty. So, she made haste to Ilex forest, in an attempt to find the monk Ho-Oh spoke of. After asking around Azalea town, she was directed to an overgrown Celebi shrine, managed by a lone monk named Megumi.
While Megumi was a bit shocked at Sen’s presence, just like all the other humans she’d met, Sen still spoke to them. She explained that she was a pseudo-legend created by Ho-Oh… who had died in combat days prior. Megumi was shocked to hear the news, and almost didn’t want to believe it at first.
Sen was there to offer an empathetic ear to Megumi, who she soon learned was the emissary of Celebi, and was mentored by Ho-Oh. Disgusted and horrified by the state of the region, Sen opted to stay with Megumi until word came about that the war had ended.
After the war, Sen and Megumi became close friends, and Megumi explained the revival process to Sen. The two agreed that it would seem like a new Ho-Oh wouldn’t be coming anytime soon, so they chose to do their best to protect Johto together.
Present day
Postwar times are much more peaceful, with the most Sen doing being running off pokemon poachers and settling pokemon’s territorial disputes. She remains extremely close to Megumi, and can often be seen at the Ilex Celebi shrine with them – while Sen wouldn’t really call anywhere ‘home’, she always finds that the shrine is a place where she can wind down.
Her duties as a protector of Johto haven’t gone unnoticed, and it would seem that Entei has become a semi-revered figure around Johto. Sen feels humbled by this, though wishes she could do more… she simply feels lost without Ho-Oh’s guidance.
Though, recently, some devout worshippers of Ho-Oh and Entei have left notes in Entei’s shrines… giving word of a new Ho-Oh – the spirit of the princess who set fire to the city. Over time, these notes would include word that the princess united with the new emissary of Lugia. Unity between the twin legends hadn’t happened for hundreds of years, so Sen excitedly relayed this information to Megumi. While the Sen has yet to meet the princess, she bides her time, waiting for a moment to proceed forwards. The possibility of the twin legends reuniting is unprecedented, and Sen hopes that she can assist in guiding her home to unity once more.
