The demon who comes when you call her name?
Through it all, even with creeping loneliness, one is never truly alone.
Anya is a woman with many titles – an ‘entity’, a dream guide, a copilot, a being from beyond dimensions.
And for longer than I can properly remember, it’s been her job to personally annoy me.
Who is Anya, like actually?
I have no idea!! It’s complicated and doesn’t make much sense to me, either. She just exists, and enjoys being needlessly mysterious and vague. A strange being trying to backseat game my life – but she’s pretty OK at it.
She’s gone under many masks and names, but often returns to her ‘true’ identity of just Anya eventually. Currently, her fixation is on Yukari Yakumo from Touhou – because she effectively went ‘she’s just like me fr’. I’m not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing.
She’s very fond of the Animal Crossing series, particularly the villager Freckles.
Unlike myself – having an avoidance of portraying myself as an insert in my work – Anya is not like that. Anniel and Yukarin are her self inserts for classic pokeau and UA respectively.
Is Anya a system member? Does she ever speak for herself?
Again, I really have no clue what she is. It could be a possibility, but I don’t want to step on any toes by claiming so without proper professional inquest, yaknow?
It’s best described, again, as someone shouting actions and one-liners from behind the couch while I’m holding the controller. Though, she’s kind of made her presence more evident when in crisis or during bouts of heavy dissociation; especially bouts triggered by her presence in my dreams and the lucidity of these dreams.
At times like this, I will have a hazy memory of my actions despite message logs and other things saying otherwise. However, for the most part, she’s very good at this, and nobody notices.
It’s Anya’s preference to stay in the background of things, and she will not exactly make her presence known unless she explicitly wishes to.
Don’t worry about her, though. I don’t believe she’s malicious by any means, and she never has been.
Don’t worry about it, she just wanted a page too.
Anya is… just Anya.
